We had Koko the start of the movie 'Red Dog' in town, along with the producer and owner Nelson Woss and Dog Trainer Luke Hura. They thoroughly enjoyed themselves and so did the crowd. Koko was greeted by many fans, with lots of photos taken. Make sure you get along to see the movie when it's released into Cinemas on August 11th by Roadshow. The Australian Pedigree Working Dog Auction - Sunday, 12th June 2011
It was day of record breaking achievements. Wymbimbie Ted, a 17 month old, male Kelpie was sold for $9000 by Ian O'Connell, Hamilton Victoria and will be making his new home in Yeoval, New South Wales.
We achieved a 92.2% clearance rate, the highest ever since the Auction began. This year due to high demand of Working Dogs, we had the lowest number of dogs offered since 1997 and we achieved the highest average price and turnover in the history of the auction. The average price was $3174. We three dogs go to Western Australia and four dogs to Tasmania. Quite a few went to New South Wales and Victoria.
We had lots of activities during the day and our Acquisitive Art Prize was won by Belinda McKinnon with a magnificent piece of artwork. Our raffle was won by a local from Sandford who will definitely enjoy their trip to Melbourne. The Quilting Challenge in the Art category was won by Heather Ball and the Traditional category was won by Joy Wilson. Photos will be displayed.
We congratulate all our winners and placegetters on the weekend, and thank all the participants and spectators who travelled far and wide who attended. The Australian Kelpie Muster for 2011 was a weekend of fun, entertainment and record breaking achievements.
